Serve the World
City Church Denver seeks to minister to the world in practical ways. This list of organizations describes some of the ways that our members are being equipped and mobilized to serve our world. Each of these organizations have City Church members serving as volunteers and/or staff and some are supported financially from our budget.
Please take time to visit our partners’ websites for more detailed information about who they are, what they do, and specific service and giving opportunities for yourself or a group. Please let them know you’re with City Church Denver so they can better connect you with opportunities and others serving from our community. Further questions about City Church Denver Missions? One way City Church can support our missions partners is through the radical act of prayer. If you’d like to receive a monthly email listing the prayer needs of our partners fill out the information below.
Description: HOPE International (HOPE) is a Christian faith-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on alleviating physical and spiritual poverty through microenterprise development. Around the world many creative, intelligent people are mired in poverty because they lack access to capital. Microfinance services can make the difference between economic entrapment and the realization of their dreams. HOPE believes that microfinance can be a powerful force in changing the world for the better and that loving people as Christ loved others means caring for both physical and spiritual needs. HOPE ministers to the poor in over a dozen countries, working in the hard places and thriving there. HOPE’s microfinance programs offer a sustainable alternative to the short-term forms of charity that have often left a wake of disempowerment in developing countries. Microfinance isn’t a hand-out but a hand up. It demands ownership and active participation from the beneficiaries of the intervention. Microloan recipients can take pride in knowing that their own hard work has made the difference between poverty and provision.
Service Opportunities: Experience the life-changing effects of microfinance on a 3-day trip to the Dominican Republic to visit HOPE’s Christ-centered microfinance programs in-person. If you are unable to go see the work, HOPE invites you to connect to learn about other ways for you to get involved.
Service Opportunities: For people who want to work overseas, IDEAS offers a variety of programs that match people’s professional skills with the needs of the places where we work. Look on the web site to see what opportunities are currently available. For people who want to serve closer to home or for a shorter time, talk with Libby Bergstrom to find out how you can be part of the work of Global Reach Libraries.
