At City Church Denver we surround our children with the Gospel, in the hopes that they hear, know, and love God. We seek to reinforce the biblical truths that parents are teaching at home, support and encourage parents, and give children the opportunity to benefit from relationships with other children and adults in our congregation. We joyfully use historic Christian traditions, such as liturgy and the church calendar, so they begin to know the timeless truths held in common with the whole Church.
Kid's Club
Kid’s Club is offered the first and third Sundays of the month for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Children participate in the beginning of the worship service with their parents and leave before Passing of the Peace. Kid’s Club helps kids discover the wonder of God’s love and grace by learning Bible stories through a Gospel lens. Kids are equipped with Bible skills and theology to nurture them in their faith.
Children's Church
We believe that children can truly know God, and should be encouraged at a young age to worship with the rest of the community. Although they may not be able to understand or participate in every aspect of the service, they often absorb more than we give them credit for. We encourage families to choose how best to worship together for our main service. Though we recognize that many parents of infants and toddlers prefer to have childcare assistance during worship and most young children benefit from age-appropriate teaching, children are always welcome to remain for the entire service.
Children’s Church is offered for children ages three through six. Children attend the beginning of the worship service with their parents and leave before Passing of the Peace for an age-appropriate worship time. Using a simple liturgy, this time is designed to help kids understand how to participate in worship. Kids sing songs, greet each other, and learn about God’s word. The leaders return with the children to the service at the end of the sermon prior to Communion.
Nursery
We offer nursery care to our infants and toddlers on Sundays during the worship service. We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment and our nursery is staffed by professional childcare workers along with screened volunteers. Even our very youngest members are included in worship by following a liturgy that includes greeting, singing, and a Bible story during the nursery time. Parents may pick up their children from the nursery after the sermon to bring them up for a blessing during Communion
Family Sunday
We celebrate Family Sunday on the 4
th Sunday of the month as we encourage families to worship together. Typically, children actively participate in various roles within the service on this Sunday. It is often during these Sundays that our youngest members receive baptism as a sign of the child’s membership in the church community and of God’s promises.
If you would like to have your child baptized on a Family Sunday or have any questions about the sacrament of baptism please contact us.
